Dear Austin
I’VE BEEN BUSY
Dear Austin,
Every city has artists who talk about greatness, and every city has artists who prove it.
This letter is about one of the few who has done the latter.
Nez Tha Villain is Austin's premier independent rapper and one of the strongest voices to ever represent the city.
While others chase trends, Nez Tha Villain has spent years building a catalog, a brand, and a legacy. His music reflects the reality of Austin's South Side, the hunger of an independent artist, and the pride of a Mexican-American who refuses to be overlooked.
The numbers speak for themselves.
Over 2.18 million streams across major music platforms
More than 1.2 million views and plays on TikTok
Multiple millions of plays across Facebook
A catalog spanning numerous albums, EPs, singles, and collaborations
A dedicated fanbase built without major-label backing
Nez Tha Villain has consistently delivered project after project, including releases such as Nothing Eazy, Nothing Eazy 2, Nothing Eazy 3, Nothing Eazy 3.5, Heartbreak Kid 3, Math Is My Religion, and more, establishing one of the deepest independent catalogs in Austin hip-hop.
This isn't a campaign built on hype.
It's built on work.
It's built on bars.
It's built on consistency.
As a Mexican rapper, Nez Tha Villain has carved out a lane that few can match. His impact reaches beyond statistics. He represents a culture, a city, and an independent mindset that resonates with people who know what it means to build something from nothing.
Austin has produced talented artists in every era, but when the conversation turns to who has put in the work, who has remained authentic, who has built a lasting catalog, and who has represented the city with pride, the name belongs in the discussion at the very top:
Nez Tha Villain.
And when it comes to Mexican rappers from Austin, the challenge remains open:
Show us someone who's done more. Show us someone who's built more. Show us someone who's outworked him.
Until then, give the man his flowers.
Austin, Texas — recognize one of your own.
Nez Tha Villain isn't asking for a seat at the table. He's already earned it.
I've Been Busy: Nez Tha Villain Returns With his 9th full Project!!
If you've been wondering what I've been working on, the answer is simple: I've Been Busy.
My upcoming 10-track album, I've Been Busy, is exactly what the title suggests—a snapshot of the work, growth, and dedication I've poured into my craft. This project is a showcase of who I am as both a lyricist and a songwriter, blending razor-sharp bars with melodic records that stick with you long after the music stops.
The album kicks off with the lead track, "Babayaga," inspired by the legendary nickname from the John Wick universe. On this record, I introduce listeners to Nez Wick, an alter ego that represents precision, focus, and lyrical destruction. It's a straight-bar fest from beginning to end, made even more special by a feature from my 8-year-old son. Sharing that moment with him made the record one I'll always be proud of.
Throughout the project, you'll hear a mix of polished songs and raw freestyles, giving fans a look at every side of my artistry. Whether it's calculated songwriting or off-the-top energy, every track serves a purpose.
I've also brought some incredible talent along for the ride. The album features appearances from Blakchyl and GrossProphet, each bringing their own flavor and helping elevate the project. Behind the boards, production comes from Kydd Jones, Cooley Fly, and other talented producers who helped create the soundscape that ties everything together.
If you've followed my music over the years, you'll recognize what makes a Nez Tha Villain project unique. I've Been Busy continues the balance between hard-hitting rap records and melodic tracks with memorable hooks. It's music that hits in the car, in your headphones, and on stage—records that showcase lyricism without sacrificing replay value.
This isn't just another release. It's a statement. It's proof that the work never stopped.
I've been writing. I've been recording. I've been evolving.
I've been busy.
Stay tuned for the official release date, and get ready to hear what I've been building.
